Welcome to the official website of the WP Primary Schools Chess League Bellville Zone. We invite all chess playing Primary Schools in Goodwood, Parow, Bellville and Durbanville to take part in the 2009 league.

All of the necessary information regarding the league will be available on this website. The information is available immediately and accessible at any time of the day. The entire website is printer-friendly and can be printed if a hard copy is required.

IMPORTANT NOTES: THIRD TERM

  • The schools are grouped in an A, B and C league according to their performance during the 2nd term. Go to schools to find your league.
  • Match fixtures for the third term will be available on 22 June. The fixtures list can be displayed for all the schools or for a specific zone or just for your school
  • The A league matches - VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE:
    • Teams playing in the A league must have 6 players because this is the format for WP and National Tournaments.
    • All A league matches MUST be played by 14 August and all results MUST be handed in on 17 August.
    • The WP Top School Trials are held on 21 - 22 August at Aristea Primary, Kraaifontein.
    • The teams that qualify for the WP Trials will be notified on 18 August. The respective team managers of the qualifying teams must email the details of their teams (players' names and dates of birth) to jja@mtnloaded.co.za on 19 August
    • PLEASE NOTE:There are only four Fridays available to play the FIVE matches. The matches dated 30 July can be played on any available date before 14 August, the schools must arrange a suitable date. It is recommended to arrange a date as soon as possible and to play these matches during the second or third week.

  • Match results must be filled in on the form available on the Rules page. This form must be printed and faxed to 086 510 21 96. Both schools must sign this form and therefore it is only necessary for the home team to fax the form. The fax number is also available on the form.
